Seven Senses , India
India is home to the world's most hand-skilled artisans and has a rich textile heritage. One of the indigenous techniques is the mastery of India's traditional Khadi fabric - hand-spun and hand-woven. It was central to Gandhi's movement in the early 1920's, when a social and financial empowerment movement was begun by re-introducing the Hkadi tradition in India.
From cleaning baled cotton, hand-carding, spinning, winding, warping, sizing, drawing and drafting, to weaving, Seven Senses takes each steps seriously. It offers high-quality, organic, and naturally dyed denim fabrics handcrafted by local Indian workers. Seven Senses aims to revive, reserve and share India's craft traditions with a wider global audience and contribute to the sustainable development of remote Indian rural areas where these artisans live.
